MultiView Catalyst opens up UNIX applications to any user with a browser - immediately. Installed centrally on a Windows server, it includes unique user and session management tools to monitor and control connection activity. It contains the powerful Face-lifting tools for revitalizing UNIX applications. ================================================================================ 2.0 Installation Issues 2.1 Upgrading MultiView Catalyst Please check our website at http://www.multiviewgroup.com for updates and upgrades for MultiView Catalyst. 2.2 Uninstall MultiView Catalyst You can remove MultiView Catalyst by selecting Add/Remove Programs from the Windows Control Panel. This reruns the Setup Program. From here you can select the uninstall option. NOTE: You must stop the MultiView Catalyst Session Manager service before you can perform the uninstall. ================================================================================ 3.0 Known Problems 3.1 Service does not Uninstall. When uninstalling Catalyst the service does not fully uninstall. This is an InstallShield problem. 3.2 Security Module does not register on upgrade/reinstallation If upgrading or performing a reinstallation the security module does not register until you stop and start the service. 3.3 Timeout problem on Windows 95 when service not running When using a Windows 95 client, if connecting to a Catalyst server when the service is not running timeout errors may occur. 3.4 Java not supported on a Mac The MultiView Catalyst Java client is not supported on a Mac. Whilst the applet will successfully download and install within I.E., not all the functionality works as expected. Netscape for the Mac does not have the required support for Catalyst, and as such the applet does not download. 3.5 Bookmarking when using Netscape Navigator does not work If you have a session connected in Netscape Navigator, when you use a bookmarked session this does not open another browser window, but the MMC reports 2 sessions connected from that client. 3.6 No File/print using ActiveX Printing is not supported in Internet Explorer. There is a print option available in the ActiveX control to overcome this problem. This will only print the ActiveX control information, and not the surrounding web page. 3.7 Enter key cannot be mapped in Java The Enter key cannot be mapped when using Java, this mapping will be ignored. 3.8 Unable to launch a website in Netscape when using Java When running the Java control in Netscape, when trying to launch a website from a link it will fail. This is due to Java being platform independent therefore it does not know what application etc. to launch. When using this functionality in the Rules editor, of for toolbars etc you need to specify either Netscape or Java before the URL in order for it to work. 3.9 Virtual machine causing Java problems When using Java in Internet Explorer you may notice various display problems, including the menu button not working, Toolbars not being displayed etc. Downloading the latest MS Virtual Machine will solve the majority of these problems. This can be found on Microsoft's website, and selecting I.E. 5. You will need to select a custom install and select Virtual Machine from the component list. 3.10 Java does not work on Windows NT 4 WTS Java does not work on Windows NT 4 Terminal Server, it does appear to work OK on Windows 2000 Server running Terminal Services. 3.11 Version number needs updating in all .html pages When upgrading from an earlier version of Catalyst, you must make sure that the version number parameter within any previous web pages you created is updated to 2.2.3.1 to enable the client to upgrade. ================================================================================ 4.0 Technical Support For prompt and effective service, please be sure to include your company name, address, any applicable phone (or fax) numbers, name and version number of the product for which you need support.
