How To:  Install MultiView 2000 Server Edition from a Web Download

To set up the installation files

1. From the download site, choose “save as” MWV2000.EXE to /temp or a similar directory.
2. After it has been downloaded, use Windows Explorer to view and double-click the file.

This install creates a directory called “MultiView 2000 Install” to contain the files necessary to install the necessary components. Make sure to read the opening message screen here, for details of how to install the Multiview 2000 SE and the License Manager components. Note: the default directory is a hidden location so it is a good idea to change the location.

After the directory has been created and the files have been unpackaged, you must install the Multiview License Manager before installing Multiview 2000 SE.

To install MultiView License Manager

1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove and choose “Install”.
2. In the MultiView 2000 Install directory, open the folder “mvwlm”
3. Double-click the file “setup.exe" and choose “OK” when it is finished.

To install MultiView 2000 Server Edition

1. Browse to the “MultiView 2000 Install” directory. Now open the folder ‘mvw2000’.
2. Double-click “m2kse.cmd” to install MultiView 2000 Server Edition.

You will need to add the appropriate serialization in the Microsoft Management Console (see “How Do I Serialize MultiView 2000 Server Edition?”).
