How To:  Embed MultiView 2000 into Internet Explorer

With Internet Explorer, there are three ways to launch a terminal emulation session (all of these presume the MultiView 2000 was identified as the default terminal emulation program – with version 3 or above see under Configure/Session properties/Startup whether the “Check to see if MultiView 2000 is the default terminal emulator” is checked on.

The three methods of launching MultiView 2000 from Internet Explorer are:

  1. Under File/Open and browse (for all files, and go to c:\program files\MultiView 2000\Terminal Sessions and select a preconfigured zzt file. When it prompts choose “open from location” and check off the “ask always for this type of file” box. This will then imbed in IE. This is the easiest method and the one you’ll most likely use.
  2. You can create a HTML document which refers to the zzt file. It will launch MultiView 2000 as an embedded component.
  3. Under the address block type in: telnet://xxx (where xxx is the name/IP address you want to telnet to). This will launch MultiView 2000 as a separate program rather than embedding.

Information on embedding MultiView 2000 into a browser is documented under “embed terminal emulator” in the MultiView 2000 Help Files.
