The information contained within this section lists the methods used to transfer the Host Support Server from the CD to your remote system. The Host Support Server is stored on the CD in a tar file as detailed below. * For remote systems running SCO UNIX OS/5 transfer, "MAS_SCO5.TAR" * For remote systems running SCO UnixWare 7 transfer, "MAS_UW7.TAR" * For remote systems running IBM AIX v3.x transfer, "MAS_AIX3.TAR" * For remote systems running IBM AIX v5.x transfer, "MAS_AIX50.TAR" * For remote systems running HP HP-UX v9.0 and v10 transfer, "MAS_HP.TAR" * For remote systems running SUN Solaris v2.x transfer, "MAS_SOL.TAR" * For remote systems running Linux v2.x transfer, "MAS_LINX.TAR" 1.1 Method 1 - With CD player connected to the remote host. Insert the CD, change to the Host Support Server directory and copy the file that corresponds to your operating system into a temporary directory, (e.g., "/tmp"). 1.2 Method 2 - PC with a file transfer program available. Using a file transfer client, for example MultiView 2000 or MultiView DeskTop file transfer, connect to your remote system. Change to the Host Support Server directory on the CD, and transfer the file that corresponds to your operating system on your remote system into a temporary directory, (e.g., "/tmp"). Should any of the above methods not be available, you can obtain the Host Support Server from the following sources, WWW - www.multiviewgroup.com For any other media requirement, please contact the MultiView Group directly. ================================================================================ 2.0 Host Support Server Installation Instructions: a) Transfer the Host Support Server tar file to your host (see section 1) and then copy it to the /usr directory. b) Login as super-user (i.e., root), and move to the /usr directory (e.g., type: cd /usr) c) Extract the installation files using the following command: tar xvf MAS_SCO5.TAR (for SCO UNIX OS/5) or tar xvf MAS_UW7.TAR (for SCO UnixWare 7) or tar xvf MAS_AIX3.TAR (for IBM AIX v3.x) or tar xvf MAS_AIX50.TAR (for IBM AIX v5.x) or tar xvf MAS_HP.TAR (for HP-UX v9.0 and v10.0) or tar xvf MAS_SOL.TAR (for SUN Solaris 2.x) or tar xvf MAS_LINX.TAR (for Linux v2.x) d) Read or print the readme document with one of the following commands: pg mvw/readme lp mvw/readme e) To install your MultiView software: Type the command: mvw/install The system then displays: Enter Serial Number, or d for a demo copy f) Type a 'd' to install your demonstration copy. g) The installation archive can now be removed with the following command: rm MAS_SCO5.TAR (for SCO UNIX OS/5) or rm MAS_UW7.TAR (for SCO UnixWare 7) or rm MAS_AIX3.TAR (for IBM AIX v3.x) or rm MAS_AIX50.TAR (for IBM AIX v5.x) or rm MAS_HP.TAR (for HP-UX v9.0 and v10.0) or rm MAS_SOL.TAR (for SUN Solaris 2.x) or rm MAS_LINX.TAR (for Linux v2.x) The Host Support Server is now installed and ready for use. ================================================================================ 3.0 Technical Support For prompt and effective service, please be sure to include your company name, address, any applicable phone (or fax) numbers, name and version number of the product for which you need support.
