Before either set of procedures can be used, DCS 8 Web SDK must be installed. Refer to the DCS 8 Administrator Reference for installation steps and information. ================================================================================ 2.0 Using DCS 8 Web with Microsoft Visual Basic Note: You must install DCS 8 WEB SDK before using these procedures. 1 Start Microsoft Visual InterDev(tm). 2 Create a new project or open an existing project. 3 On the Tools menu, select Customize Toolbox. 4 Select Futuresoft DCS WEB to Host DTC. 5 Click OK. 6 Create a new page in the new/open project. 7 Open the new page in Source View. 8 Delete the tag on this page. Note: If you choose to leave the body tag, the browser flashes when displaying new page(s). An alternative approach would be to set a background color for the page, for example, . 9 In the left view pane, select the Toolbox tab. 10 Select Design-time Controls. 11 Click on the DCS_W2H control and drag/drop it after the tag in the ASP page. 12 Right click the Futuresoft DCS Web to host design-time control. 13 On the pop-up menu, select Properties. The Properties window appears. 14 Enter: * host address (name or IP address) * port number * Terminal Emulation type * connector 15 Click OK. 16 Save the ASP page. 17 You are now ready to use the ASP page in your browser to start terminal emulation. Enter the URL for the ASP page in your browser. ================================================================================ 3.0 Using DCS 8 Web with Microsoft FrontPage Note: You must install DCS 8 WEB SDK before using these procedures. 1 Start Microsoft FrontPage(r). 2 Open a new/existing project. 3 Create a new ASP page in this project. 4 Open the new ASP page in the FrontPage(r) Editor. 5 Select Normal view . 6 On the Insert menu, select Advanced > Design-Time Control.... 7 Select FutureSoft DCS Web To Host DTC. 8 Right click on the FutureSoft DCS Web to Host Design Time Control window and select Properties on the pop up menu. 9 Enter the following: * host address (name or IP address) * port number * Terminal Emulation type * connector 10 Click OK. 11 Save the ASP page. 12 You are now ready to start terminal emulation.
