Readme: Converting the DynaComm i:filter Destinations Database Release Number: 7.0.0.0 Release Date: September 15, 2009 ============================================================================== These steps guide you through the process of converting the evaluation version of the Destinations database to the release version. The Destinations database is used by the Central Database and Monitor components and must be updated in all instances of these two components. ============================================================================== Contents This document contains the following sections: 1.0 Notes 2.0 Destinations Database Conversion Steps 3.0 Technical Support ============================================================================== 1.0 Notes 1.1 Destinations database - Converting Evaluation to Release Version 1.1.1 FutureSoft web site conversion process The conversion process detailed in this document uses the DynaComm i:filter CD which are different from the process used with the FutureSoft FTP site. Visit www.futuresoft.com/support for details on using the FutureSoft FTP site to convert an evaluation version of the database to a release version. 1.1.2 Conversion - Monitor component If you are converting a database on a machine with a Monitor component, the Monitor service must be stopped before performing any succeeding steps. ============================================================================== 2.0 Destinations Database Converstion Steps 2.1 Conversion on System with Monitor Component A Stop the Monitor service with one of the following procedures: * On a system with a Network Monitor, stop the Monitor service through the Management Console. * On a system with an ISA Server Monitor: 1 Open Microsoft ISA Management. 2 Expand the directory tree in the Explorer pane to display the topics for the ISA Server Monitor system. 3 Click Extensions and select Web Filters. 4 In the Contents pane, right-click DynaComm i:filter ISA Server web filter and select Disable. 5 In the dialog, verify that the second option "Save the changes and restart the service(s)" is selected and click OK. B Load the DynaComm i:filter CD into the CD drive. C Start Windows Explorer and copy the \database\destinations.exe file from the CD. D On the Central Database and/or Network Monitor machine, paste the copied file into: Program Files\FutureSoft\DynaComm ifilter. E Execute (open) the destinations.exe file. F Start the Monitor service with one of the following procedures: * On a system with a Network Monitor, start the Monitor service through the Management Console. * On a system with an ISA Server Monitor: 1 Open Microsoft ISA Management. 2 Expand the directory tree in the explorer pane to display the topics for the ISA Server Monitor system. 3 Click Extensions and select Web Filters. 4 In the contents pane, right-click DynaComm i:filter ISA Server web filter and select Enable. 5 In the dialog, verify that the second option "Save the changes and restart the service(s)" is selected and click OK. G Delete the destinations.exe file that was copied/pasted in steps C and D. 2.1 Destinations Database Conversion on System without Monitor Component A Load the DynaComm i:filter CD into the CD drive. B Start Windows Explorer and copy the \database\destinations.exe file from the CD. C On the Central Database and/or Network Monitor machine, paste the copied file into: Program Files\FutureSoft\DynaComm ifilter. D Execute (open) the destinations.exe file.
