DynaComm i:scan® 4.0 Patch

NOTES: If you have any defined scans and session rules in an installed version of DynaComm i:scan that you wish to keep, you must say "Yes" during installation of this patch file when asked if you wish to keep your existing Admin database. Answering "No" restores the default scans and real-time monitor rules. To manually set up scans and rules, refer to the updated DynaComm i:scan Administrator Guide, Appendix B Configuration Samples for detailed descriptions of each.

After installation of this patch:

  1. Each client service, including the client service on the server component system, must be upgraded through the Client Management configuration topic with the "Upgrade" function.
  2. You will be prompted to enter a user account. Enter the same user account information that you used during initial set up of DynaComm i:scan. This account must have full access rights on allclient machines.

This patch file includes the following corrections:

P1.1 Fixed - File Scan Properties report would be generated only for selected client names.

P1.2 Fixed - In certain situations, scans would continue using memory after completion of scan.

P1.3 Updated - Files to filter can now include drive letters and leading "*\" (asterisk slash) chracters, as in, "c:\temp" or "*\temporary internet files\*" or "\temp"

P1.4 Updated - Selecting the "Administrators" group in an Real-Time Monitor rule now automatically includes local Admin accounts.

P1.5 Added - New descriptive text on File Locations tab to describe which options are supported only by Windows NT and above.

P1.6 Added - New preconfigured file scans to find spyware and to perform a full system inventory.

P1.7 Added - Real-Time Monitoring now includes a rule set titled "Sample Rules" that includes 9 rules to block and log access to selected files and 9 rules to only log access to selected files; these rules can be copied into another rule set and customized as needed.

P2.1 Fixed - Blue screen occurred when processing certain file types (SB2).

P2.2 Fixed - Blue screen occurred with null pointer in URL string (SB2).

P2.3 Fixed - RTM logs could not be retrieved (SB3).

  2. Click here to download the patch file.
  3. Unpack and apply the downloaded patch file.
  4. After installation, read the updated readme file accessed from the DynaComm i:scan program group.
