DynaComm PointGuard is available:

• As a pre-configured appliance.

DynaComm PointGuard is installed by our technicians on a new Microsoft Windows 2003 server system and includes basic configuration settings. The appliance is then shipped to you, ready to add your client systems. This option ensures that you have a clean installation on the required system.

• For download to an existing Windows 2003 server

An installation package can be downloaded to a network location and installed whenever you choose (or media can be shipped to you). For this option use these requirements for installing your DynaComm PointGuard server and client components:

Server Component

• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with SP2
• Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS 6.0)
• Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 5.01 (or higher)
• Pentium 4 2GHz or faster processor
• 2 GB total RAM
• 50 GB free hard drive space

Note 1: The server component cannot be installed on a Windows NT 4.0 system. However, file scans can be run against a Windows NT system by using non-distributed processing. See the DynaComm PointGuard Administrator Guide for an overview on distributed and non-distributed processing.

Note 2: DynaComm PointGuard Scheduling requires mstask.exe which is available with Internet Explorer 5.01 (or higher), Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server or Windows XP.

Client Component

• Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit), or
• Microsoft Windows Vista Businesss (64-bit), or
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with SP2, or
• Microsoft Windows XP with SP2 (or higher), or
• Microsoft Windows 2000 with SP4 v2(9/13/2007) with Update Rollup 1 applied
• Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 5.01 or higher
• 1.0 GHz or faster processor
• 512 MB total RAM
• 500 MB free hard drive space
  

Note 1: Only file and registry scans can be run on NT client systems. Spyware and Real-time Protection is not supported on NT clients.
