MultiView 2007 gives you access to legacy applications with robust yet customizable terminal emulation software. MultiView 2007 is a PC-UNIX integration suite for Windows platforms and is certified as an application for the Windows Vista operating system. From SCO ANSI through DEC VT100-420 and AT386/UnixWare to WYSE 60, you get accurate 32-bit emulation with the flexibility to customize the software for today's corporate needs. File transfer protocols include Zmodem and Kermit. Connection types include Telnet, Modem, NVT2, RExec, RLogin, RS232, RSH, SSH1 and SSH2.

MultiView 2007 contains powerful user-friendly tools to help you face-lift your UNIX applications. These tools can be immediately implemented in-house at any level of complexity. No programming is required. Face-lifting applies a mouse-driven graphical user interface to your legacy applications with:

Task automation is an integral part of face-lifting. Task macros can be recorded as you work, saved as scripts and launched by anyone familiar with a mouse. Logging on to a UNIX host, launching an application and navigating its menus can be simplified down to the click of a button.

In direct response to the system administrator’s need for one-step centralized software installation, upgrades and maintenance, this collection of central administration tools will increase the efficiency of your administrator, while saving you a fortune.

Custom client or server install
Menu-driven software installation directly on client PC with CD or install from network file systems. MultiView 2007 may be copied to a file server and centrally installed on to client PCs.

Fully automated background install feature
An install recorder lets the system administrator record an installation script that can be used in unattended install mode. This is an invaluable tool for large sites, OEMs and others who need to easily distribute custom installation packages.

Web install facility
MultiView 2007 can be installed directly from a Website to a client, without needing to copy over the set-up files. This helps in the overall software distribution automation, especially via the corporate Intranet.

Compatibility with industry network administration tool sets
MultiView 2007 embraces the most popular industry architectures for implementing Zero Administration Network solutions. It has built-in support for policies and profiles native to Windows 9X/2007 & NT. It also interfaces with Microsoft’s ZAK (Zero Administration Kit for Windows), Novell’s ZEN (Zero Effort Networks for users) and other software tools. Network managers are empowered with desktop and software maintenance capabilities that reduce the total cost of maintaining Windows PCs on the network.

Advanced data security
With Secure Shell (SSH1 and SSH2) support, all data exchanges between the terminal emulation client and the remote UNIX server are full encrypted and secure.

Integrated multimedia support

MultiView 2007 lets you upgrade your character-based applications with integrated multimedia support. Graphical images can be overlaid on any area of the screen, as background or foreground, tiled or stretched. They let you give screens a corporate identity with high-resolution welcoming banners instead of flat monochrome displays, company logos instead of ASCII characters, clickable printer icons instead of function key print commands.

Sound support is also tightly integrated into the terminal emulator. Sounds can guide users, if they have entered an unauthorized area, or simply make their interaction more Windows-like with error beeps and confirmation dings. Applications can also be enhanced with speech capabilities.

Offers full network resources to modem and serial users. It is easily installed on a UNIX server and doesn't interfere with the applications to be accessed.

Multiple, concurrent application access with a single connection
Saves users time, by allowing you to multi-task over a single login. Up to 6 different applications can be opened up concurrently.

One login procedure for multiple applications
Saves time by negotiating the connection procedure once. After that, applications on the remote system run without any further login procedure.

Built-in session multiplexing
Saves you money on software licenses. Connections to a remote system can be multiplexed, and up to 6 sessions can be funneled through a single port giving "6 for the price of 1" session connectivity for UNIX user licenses.

Local printing functionality
Via a modem or serial connection allows you to redirect remote print requests to a printer attached to your local PC without the need for running an LPD server. Terminal emulation sessions remain intact during printing.

File transfer functionality
Via modem or serial connection lets you transfer files from your PC to the UNIX server and vice-versa without the need for FTP running over TCP/IP. Terminal emulation sessions remain intact during file transfer.

Enterprises with serial connectivity
Gain the facility to share the full spectrum of application access, local/remote printing and file transfer services. TCP/IP LAN implementation is not necessary.

Minimizes potential threat to firewalls
By offering single point of entry. Instead of having to open up one port each for telnet, LPR, LPD and FTP, for example, Host Support Server can handle all these needs over a single port. This lowers the security risk of exposing multiple ports.

Connection flexibility
A major focus of Host Support Server. All of these features are available over a broad spectrum of connections, such as modem, nvt2, rexec, rlogin, RS232, rsh and telnet. The full range of UNIX platforms are embraced by this server functionality, including Linux, HP-UX, AIX, UnixWare, SCO, Sun Solaris, etc.

Web-enabled connectivity

ActiveX and OLE2 embedding technologies allow you to integrate face-lifted UNIX applications within your corporate Intranet and the Web by using most standard Web browsers.

Both the MultiView 2007 terminal emulator and FTP applications can be embedded into a Web page on your corporate Intranet.

MultiView 2007 takes a two-pronged approach to Web-enabling. Not only can the application be embedded into a browser, the terminal emulator can control the browser using Active URL technology. If a URL (a web link, an email address, an FTP site, etc.) appears in the terminal emulation window, it instantly becomes a clickable link

Share cross platform information

You can easily share information between PC and UNIX applications using DDE and OLE2 links. DDE links can be set up with a few mouse clicks.

Dynamically pass data from UNIX into Windows, e.g. pull the current sales breakdown percentages into a graphical MS Excel pie chart, every change being immediately updated.

Open up network resources

The MultiView 2007 software package also includes:
