Pocket TFTP Server provides an Internet-standard TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) server on any handheld PC running
Windows CE 2.0 and greater. It supports all TFTP clients that are RFC 1350-compliant, including those integrated into network
devices, such as routers.
- Multi-threaded design and implementation ensure high performance under all conditions.
- Unlimited simultaneous client requests are supported, restricted only by physical resources.
- User interface provides information about file transfer requests currently being processed,
including client IP address, transfer block size and filename.
- User interface displays server IP address(es) at startup, which is particularly useful when
using DHCP.
- Logging capability with configurable level of detail allows for simple problem diagnosis.
- Ability to establish maximum size of log file saves storage space on the server.
- Ability to restrict both uploads and downloads to a particular subdirectory tree provides
greater security.
- Ability to minimize to the system tray decreases desktop and taskbar clutter.
- Exponential backoff timeout algorithm dynamically selects suitable timeout intervals depending
upon the network conditions.
Pocket TFTP Server is fully compliant with the following Internet RFCs:
- RFC 1123Requirements for Internet Hosts application and support
- RFC 1350The TFTP Protocol (Revision 2)
- RFC 2347TFTP Option Extension
- RFC 2348TFTP Blocksize Option
- RFC 2349TFTP Timeout Interval and Transfer Size Options
Pocket TFTP Server runs as a GUI program and has been tested on handheld PCs running Windows CE 2.0 and 2.11 with MIPS, SH3,
SH4 and StrongARM processors. A version for Windows NT, called TFTP Server 2000, is also available and runs as a native NT
service.
