FutureSoft, Inc., developer of information security and connectivity solutions, today announced the launch of DynaComm PointGuard v7.5. The latest version of FutureSoft’s flagship solution comes with a plethora of additional functionality to enable organizations to manage, monitor and secure critical assets from one centrally managed console, at an attractive price point.

DynaComm PointGuard is FutureSoft’s popular IT administration and security tool that provides on-demand and real-time functions. It enables organization-wide spyware protection, insider threat assessment, data leak prevention, compliance auditing, policy creation and enforcement, and real-time host-based monitoring.

PointGuard v7.5 includes a new plug-in architecture, a client snapshot piece, a logon monitor and an event log monitor.

• Plug-in architecture allows machine specific deployment of regional functionality or the addition of third party applications;
• Client snapshot piece enables administrators to get a quick snapshot of everything running on a particular machine;
• Logon monitor provides the ability to report on and monitor in real-time when users logon/logoff and when screen savers and other displays are activated;
• Event log monitor permits real-time alerts to be set and enables customers to monitor specific events in clients’ Windows event logs. This functionality expands the ability to use PointGuard not just as a security tool, but as a powerful administration tool that significantly reduces system downtime.

A recent ISSA survey showed that 56% of all respondents felt that employees or supervisory level personnel were the greatest risk to company information systems. The Computer Security Institute (CIS) has similarly warned that insider threat was the most reported security incident in 2007.
