FutureSoft’s Database of Categorized Web Domains Passes 9 Million Domain Milestone Houston, TX-October 20, 2004 FutureSoft, Inc., today announced that the DynaComm i:filter Destinations Database, part of its enterprise Internet filtering and monitoring solution, now contains over 9 million records. The database contains vital information regarding the type of content available on Web sites, and this significant step forward provides even more complete protection to DynaComm i:filter customers. Rick Mansel, President and CEO of FutureSoft, said, “We continue to work hard to provide our customers with the most comprehensive and accurate Web filtering product available on the market. The size of any Web filter’s database directly affects its ability to securely and accurately filter and report on Web access. The fact that our Destinations Database now contains over 9 million domains is a significant leap forward in filtering effectiveness.” The 9 million categorized domains represent many millions of categorized Web pages, ranging from business sites to adult entertainment domains. To give some indication of just how extensive the database is, if each domain contained only 25 pages, it would take someone browsing 8 hours a day, every day, over 300 years to see them all. The problems of reduced employee productivity, poor network performance, and legal liability have prompted many organizations to implement Web filtering solutions. However, to be truly effective, the Web filter must use accurate and comprehensive categorization information of the type provided in the Destinations Database. DynaComm i:filter has already been deployed successfully by a wide variety of organizations around the world wishing to manage and report on Web access, from small schools to multi-national commercial enterprises. The accuracy and completeness of the Destinations Database has often been a primary deciding factor in selecting DynaComm i:filter. Mansel concluded, “Our customers rely on DynaComm i:filter to provide protection to their employees and their network. We're pleased to continue to provide them with the very best filtering technology available.” About FutureSoft Founded in 1982, FutureSoft is an international software company focused on the development of Enterprise Content Security solutions.
