FutureSoft Enhances Spam and E-mail Filtering Solution

FutureSoft, Inc., the Houston-based maker of the DynaComm i:series Enterprise Content Security software family, today announced the release of DynaComm i:mail version 4.0.

Included in this new version of the company’s e-mail filtering and monitoring solution are significant anti-spam enhancements designed to dramatically reduce the quantity of unwanted e-mail arriving at users' inboxes. In addition to blacklist support, content filtering and heuristic analysis techniques, DynaComm i:mail version 4.0 ships with a full featured, and pre-trained, Bayesian analyzer. Bayesian analyzers use statistical theory to predict whether or not a particular mail message is spam. Analyzers of this kind are highly effective at recognizing spam, and will, in fact, learn how spam is categorized as they are used in a production environment.

Besides the new Bayesian analyzer, DynaComm i:mail's anti-spam heuristic analysis has been strengthened with the addition of a number of known spam techniques. This ‘connection-level filtering’ can recognize spam, even before it is received, based on a number of connection-based indicators. By rejecting spam before it reaches the server, DynaComm i:mail ensures the minimum possible impact on network resources, saving network bandwidth, processing time and disk space.

DynaComm i:mail 4.0 also includes the capability, through LDAP, to access directory services such as Microsoft's Active Directory. This enables administrators to automatically import users' mailboxes to ensure simple installation and configuration in medium to large-sized organizations.
