Due to our recent database maintenance, please perform the following steps outlined below to update ALL your client PCs and server console. These steps are necessary to continue obtaining further updates. Instructions below are for manual deployment to each PCs, but can also be deployed via third party software deployment utility (e.g. Active Directory, SMS, etc..)
Important : • Must update ALL clients first before updating the server console! • If client is also installed on the i:scan server; uninstall the client first. • This user account must have administrator rights.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Turn off the following options on the i:scan server console from, Tools/Options/Settings:
• Automatically push new installations to clients • Perform daily database maintenance • Perform daily database update check
2. Update ALL clients with, ftp://ftp.futuresoft.com/Downloads/iscan65/databaseupdates/clients/iScan 65 Client Database Update.msi. To verify that all of your clients have been successfully updated, use the client management console. Make sure the date is 1/8/2008 4:56:00PM
3. After successfully updating ALL clients, update the Server with, ftp://ftp.futuresoft.com/Downloads/iscan65/databaseupdates/server/iScan 65 Server Database Update.msi .
4. Once the server is updated with the database update, you can manually run the update from Tools/Update, or wait until the scheduled nightly updates to get the latest i:scan updates from our website. Turn back on the options from Step #1 after successful update.
5. If a client was originally installed on the same server, then push it from the i:scan client management console as usual ( *only if client and server were originally installed on same PC)
